One of the North East's most popular restaurants is set to expand to other areas of the UK.
Geisha, located in Newcastle, serves up a selection of Pan-Asian meals as well as cocktails. The venue has a Japanese garden inspired interior which includes lanterns hanging from the ceiling.
The eatery, on Sandyford Road, has become known as one of the most "Instagrammable" restaurants in the city. It has been visited by Newcastle United player Kieran Tripper, Geordie Shore star Charlotte Crosby and Love Island's Lillie Haynes.

Geisha has now announced that they have secured "significant investment" and will be opening restaurants and venues across the UK.
They posted on social media: "We're extremely happy to announce that Geisha, the most Instagram-able restaurant brand in the the North East, has secured significant investment from private equity to open restaurants and venues throughout the UK! We plan to give the rest of the country the full Geisha experience."
Customers have praised the restaurant on social media for their success so far. One person posted: "Amazing news!!! Well done team Geisha". Another person commented: "Congratulations love your food & the atmosphere you create". Others have been suggesting locations for new Geisha restaurants.
Geisha began operating as a takeaway service during the third covid-19 lockdown in 2021 and opened their doors on April 12 that year. They launched a "Home Experience" delivery service from a location in Benton in September 2022.
