Popular Mexican restaurant chain set to open new branch in Durham

A popular burrito chain is set to open a new branch in County Durham in a matter of weeks.

Known for its burritos and tacos, Mexican restaurant chain Tortilla is set to open its new branch on Silver Street in Durham on Friday, November 18. The chain also has a restaurant in Eldon Square in Newcastle but is yet to branch further into the region - until now.

It has more than 60 restaurants across the country and Durham will be the chain's 59th restaurant. The new branch is thought to seat up to 30 people and is set to create 20 new jobs for locals across front-of-house, kitchen, and management roles.

Founded in 2007, Tortilla is the UK's largest fast-casual Mexican restaurant brand and gives visitors a mouthwatering California-style Mexican menu to choose from. With customisable burritos, tacos and salads, you can choose from different meats and rice options as well as tempting premium extras.

But if you don't fancy a burrito, you can always get a naked burrito that puts everything people love about them into one handy bowl. There are also quesadillas, sweet desserts, and plenty of soft drinks to choose from.

The chain also argues that it is affordable, with burritos from £6.75, a trio of tacos from £6.55, and chips and salsa from £2.85. Further information will be made available nearer to the date of the opening.
