Popular Loch Lomond tourist attraction mysteriously 'ceases trading'

A POPULAR Loch Lomond tourist attraction has mysteriously ceased trading after two decades.

Loch Lomond Seaplanes has cancelled all its flights and issued a message on its website to confirm the shock news.

The company was founded in 2003 by David West, who offered regular flights between Loch Lomond and the Isle of Skye.

Tourists who have purchased tickets are expected to be contacted, but in the meantime, all flights have been cancelled.

A pop-up message on the website states: "Please be advised that Loch Lomond Seaplanes has ceased trading. If you have tickets or a flight booked then someone will be in touch in the near future."

A warning had been issued on social media as some people were reportedly left £300 out of pocket after receiving an email confirming their flight cancellation while waiting at the grounds of Cameron House for their trip.

One Facebook user said: "After an advanced booking, friends of our page today were waiting to board the seaplane at Cameron House grounds.

"They were concerned that no seaplane was to be seen, an email was received to say 'Flight cancelation: Dear customer, It is with sadness that I have to advise you that Loch Lomond Seaplanes has ceased trading and, therefore your booked flight has been cancelled. Someone will be in touch in the near future to advise on your tickets'."
