Kitty Cafe in Leeds city centre is reopening its doors this winter.
The café where customers can drink coffee and stroke cute kitties had to close in August after the business’ roof collapsed. The floor of the old Debenhams building collapsed into the hotspot.
Staff announced on social media that the venue had to close “until further notice” due to “huge amounts of damage”. This left many cat lovers saddened as the café had become hugely popular since its opening in 2017.

It opened in the former Yorkshire Bank building which was converted in Kirkgate following the roaring success of Nottingham’s Kitty Cafe branch. The £500,000 refurb of the former Yorkshire Bank building included the installation of luxury cat nap areas and the UK's largest scratching post.
Following a thorough vetting, cat lovers can adopt one of their very own to take home. Customers were unsure if they would ever be able to go to Kitty Cafe in Leeds again.
However, it has now been confirmed the café will reopen its doors very soon. Thanks to a fundraising page from customers and the admin team, the building is being repaired.
It has been confirmed that the café will reopen and the date is likely to be December 5, in time for the festive season.
