Popular Leeds city centre pub Mr Foley's reopens after two-year absence

A popular Leeds city centre pub has reopened after a two-year absence.

Mr Foley’s Tap House, based in a Grade II listed building on the Headrow, closed in March 2020 at the start of the coronavirus pandemic but is now back to offer a range of guest beers in time for the Queen's Platinum Jubilee celebrations.

Options from Yorkshire-based Black Sheep Brewery’s beers will be some of the permanent offerings, and the Leeds city centre pub will also soon show live sport.

Charlene Lyons, Black Sheep Brewery’s chief executive officer, said: “We’re absolutely delighted to be able to open the doors of Mr Foley’s once again – and just in time for the four-day celebratory weekend.

“We know that Foley’s has been sorely missed by many Leeds locals since its closure in March 2020. We hope that the people of Leeds will come along to our takeover weekend and join us in raising a glass to the Queen.”

Foley’s will soon be installing Sky Sports and BT Sport so they will be able to screen next season’s big football matches. They also hope to be an ideal drinking spot for this winter’s football World Cup.
