Popular Indian street food chain Chaiiwala opening at Edinburgh's Fort Kinnaird

A popular Indian street food chain are set to open a new café at a busy Edinburgh shopping park.

Chaiiwala are set to take up residence within the vacant retail unit next to Tui and Currys at Fort Kinnaird, with the highly anticipated street food café recently launching their first Scottish venue in Glasgow.

The chain, who own 75 restaurants nationwide, specialise in unique hot drinks as well as both breakfast and lunch food options derived from the streets of New Delhi.

The company say they are one of the fastest-growing independent businesses in the UK and hope to open a further 500 stores worldwide within the next decade.

Having been planning to open their first eatery within the capital for some time, the external signage has finally been erected outside the unit at Fort Kinnaird, with the store set to open any week now.

Some of Chaiiwala's signature hot drinks include Caramel Chaii, Garam Chocolate, Pink Chaii and Cinnamon Tea.

In terms of food, the extensive and mouth-watering menu includes Desi Breakfast, English-Ish Breakfast, Karachi Bun Kebab, Chicken Tikka in Naan and Masala Chips.

Liam Smith, centre director at Fort Kinnaird said: "It’s always a pleasure to welcome new retailers to the centre and we know Chaiiwala will be a big hit with hungry visitors keen to experience all of the delicious Indian street food on the menu.

"We’ll continue to invest in Fort Kinnaird to make it the best shopping, leisure and dining destination in the area, which includes continuing to bring our shoppers new brands and experiences into 2023."
