Popular Glasgow pizzeria takes up city centre location as newest street food at Big Feed Kitchen

A well known east end pizzeria has taken up residency in Princes Square, serving their street food offerings in a restaurant environment.

Baked Pizza Al Taglio, who operate their own spot on Duke Street, are bringing their popular menu to the Big Feed Kitchen as one of the latest guest traders. Bringing a hefty slice of their east end pizza with them, Baked set up shop in Princes Square today (November 3) and will be there for the foreseeable.

The Italian offerings include garlic bread and salads, individual slices, sandwiches and 14" pizzas. They'll be joined in the kitchen by the previous resident restaurant, who'll be staying put as Baked moves in.

Earlier this month it was announced that Rafa’s Tacos would be the first guest to take over at the Big Feed Kitchen, bringing Mexican flair to Princes Square. Rafa’s and Baked will be working in conjunction at the kitchen, so if you fancy Italian and your pal has a craving for tacos - you know where to head.

Daryl Leach, who runs Baked, is excited about the new venture. He said: “We’ve always dreamed about having a city centre location and what better time to do it than the Christmas shopping season.

“We think Big Feed Kitchen and their resident traders concept is a fantastic idea, it really brings food vendors and customers together in the right way as well as promoting the businesses to new customers who might not frequent locations outside of the city centre.”

Daryl’s Italian outlet started life four years ago, with the owners spending time in Rome and hoping to bring authentic standards to the food back home.

He added: “Without a doubt it is the dough that makes our pizzas so special.

“We work very hard on our dough and the process is a closely guarded secret. We use many modern baking techniques to ensure a light, digestible and super crunch product.

Jonathon Stipanovsy of Big Feed Kitchen said: “This is the next step in the evolution of Big Feed Kitchen - we realised we could comfortably host both of these very different, but complementary traders at the same time.

“So now we have a really nice range on offer to cater for groups and families - amazing pizzas, tacos, fried chicken, burritos, plus amazing drinks and cocktails, frozen ones too, and DJs and live music.

“Big Feed Kitchen is the perfect family day out, shopping trip highlight, weekend chill out or warm-up, or the start of a big night out. There’s something for everyone - that’s what we are all all about.”
