An Edinburgh vegan cafe has finally reopened in a new location after being "forced" to close last year.
Plant Bae had proved an extremely popular addition to Edinburgh city centre during the pandemic, but was forced to close over uncertainties in 2021 However, their new site has now opened in Leith.
Located on Leith Walk, staff had been keeping hungry locals updated on their progress getting the new venue ready for business, operating a soft launch in recent days.
Operating with an entirely plant-based menu, their aesthetic dishes and interior has been continued in the new Leith eatery, with diners already sharing their plates to social media.

Currently operating Tuesday through Sunday Plant Bae said there is still "lot's to be done" on the new site.
The news of a reopening had landed on welcome ears earlier this year, after the Haymarket venue announced they would be closing for good last December.
Claiming the decision was based on the "disappearing" office lunch trade and "staff shortages", the cafe, who also own Grams in Stockbridge, said they had no option but to shut up shop.

Speaking at the time, they said: "When we opened Stockbridge we had every intention of opening Plant Bae back up but between staff shortages, the Haymarket office lunch trade disappearing overnight and the cost of getting it going again…we have had to step away.
"We are forced to make these decisions and who knows what’s round the corner for us. Any small business who made the decision to keep their staff on no matter what, probably had to take out the government loan and are now repaying that. Couple that with staffing issues, being unable to open seven days and reduced footfall and sales, the worst is not over."
However, the new cafe appears to have no intention of leaving anytime soon, and are open Tuesday-Friday 8pm-4pm and 9-4pm on the weekends.
