Popular city centre pub reopens with stylish new design

A popular Dublin pub has reopened under a new name with a fresh new facelift and a range of appetising features for beer lovers.

Tapped sits stylishly on the former site of Porterhouse Central on Nassau Street, which was Judge Roy Beans before that.

Open today, Tapped offers visitors Ireland's largest number of taps on site, which are served along a huge 15-metre bar. The venue will specialise in local and international craft beer, organic and sustainable wine, and their very own kegged cocktails on tap.

The new bar has also partnered with Dublin Pizza Company to bring punters a delicious food offering and will regularly host some of Dublin’s best DJ’s. The food menu will also include LA style smashed burgers, wings, sandwiches and salads.

The brand new Dublin pub has been brought to us by Porterhouse Brewery and Dingle Distillery, who have spent the last couple of years coming up with a unique concept that will appeal to as many people as possible.

Tapped will specialise in local and international craft beer, organic and sustainable wine, and their very own kegged cocktails on tap. While the beers and cocktails on tap are set to be a major attraction to Tapped, the unique decor is sure to be another draw for thirsty Dubs.

Wood, concrete and steel make up the vast majority of the venue's interiors. Meanwhile Italian glass bricks are used to create the bespoke countertops. A local robotics company has also been commissioned to create an innovative rotating menu which will move on loop showcasing guest beers and specials.

Other features at Tapped include shipping container pods used as seating booths, up-cycled furniture, keg chairs and old TV frames holding local Irish art.

"It is only natural for us to offer our own Porterhouse Brewery products, such as Plain, Rambler and Renegade, but it’s also essential to us that the customer has far-reaching options," said Elliot Hughes, Managing Director of Porterhouse Brew Co and Dingle Distillery.

"We will offer beers from independent breweries across Ireland and around the world including White Hag, Garage, Stigbergets, Trouble Brewing and Kinnegar. To ensure new beers are always being introduced the beer menu will change weekly."

He added: "Serving cocktails on tap eliminates an enormous amount of waste daily, but equally it saves the consumer so much time waiting for their drink."
