Popular Ayrshire chip shop to reopen nine months after being ravaged by fire

A popular Ayrshire chip shop is getting set to boot up the fryers over nine months after closing due to a fire.

Welbeck Fish and Chips in Kilmarnock was evacuated on November 28, 2021 as a blaze erupted a few hours after opening.

The Welbeck Street venue will reopen as The Welbeck on Thursday and it has been given a huge facelift during its period of closure.

Owners revealed on social media: "We are so thrilled and excited to announce that our grand opening is going to be on September 1.

"Please stay tuned to our Facebook page and spread out the news to your friends and family.
