The Vatican reported that Pope Francis is currently undergoing therapy for double pneumonia and remains in critical condition. He has been hospitalized since February 14 due to a complex lung infection. A CT scan was conducted on Tuesday evening to assess the status of the infection, with results expected later in the day.
Despite the critical condition, the Pope had a peaceful night and was seen sitting upright in his armchair on Wednesday while receiving therapy. While doctors have cautioned that he is not out of danger, there have been no further respiratory crises since Saturday.
The Dean of the College of Cardinals has been designated to lead a prayer vigil in St. Peter's Square on Wednesday night, as individuals from Argentina and Rome gathered to pray for the Pope's recovery. A special Mass was held in the Argentine church of Rome, with prayers offered for the Pope's well-being.

Cardinal Giovanni Battista Re, the influential dean of the College of Cardinals, will preside over the evening vigil in St. Peter's Square. Despite his critical but stable condition, the Pope continues to work from the hospital and recently announced significant governing decisions.
Doctors have emphasized that the Pope's prognosis remains guarded, and he is closely monitored for any developments in his health. The Vatican expressed gratitude for the outpouring of support and prayers from around the world for Pope Francis' recovery.
