Pop Idol's Michelle McManus hosting Rylan book signing in Glasgow next week

Pop Idol star Michelle McManus is hosting Rylan Clark 's book singing in Glasgow next week.

The 42-year-old will be taking to the stage to interview the former X Factor star in St Luke's Glasgow, as the event promises 'no topic' is off limit. This news comes after Rylan recently cancelled a string of his upcoming book signing events, but the star gushed over his event with Michelle taking place next week.

Sharing the news on social media, Rylan wrote: "Yesss Michelle!! @ladym_mcmanus! Can’t wait to have you with me in Glasgow... . Michelle will be hosting my Evening With night where she’ll be interviewing me (be nice), I’ll be meeting you all, signing books, taking selfies and generally having a nice old natter with everyone who’s coming."

He added: "I’ll see you at @stlukesglasgow Wednesday 5th October, link in bio to come xx"

Michelle commented on the post: "Darling I’m so very excited!! I can not wait to see you in Glasgow, we’re going to have an absolute ball with everyone @stlukesglasgow," followed up by her own Instagram post. Telling her 12.8k followers, she penned: "I’m completely honoured to be hosting an evening with the fabulous @rylan on the 5th October @stlukesglasgow.

"Tickets are flying out the door to see and hear from the man himself as he chats about the last incredible 10 years in the spotlight"

Rylan's book, TEN: The Decade That Changed My Life, has made headlines in recent weeks following a string of heartbreaking confessions the star made. The This Morning presenter details how the breakdown of his marriage to former Big Brother contestant Dan Neal, 43, impacted not just his mental health, but his physical health too - admitting he suffered two heart failures amid the split.

Rylan and Dan tied the knot in 2015 but announced their separation in July last year - with the TV presenter now revealing in his latest memoir how their marriage was rocked by his historic cheating admissions. The Radio 2 DJ recalls how he had been unfaithful to Dan "years ago" but only decided to tell his partner in May 2021, causing their six-year marriage to break down.

The situation was so difficult for Rylan that he said he no longer wanted to be alive and subsequently tried to end his own life. He penned: "And for the first time in thirty two years I felt I couldn't carry on no more. What's the point I thought. I'd lost what I thought was everything, the one thing I always wanted. A man I loved. A family of my own. And now it was gone. And so I tried to end it."
