The Arizona Cardinals used both of their third-round picks on Friday to select pass rushers. They selected San Diego State edge defender Cameron Thomas with the 87th overall pick and then, 13 picks later, they selected Cincinnati’s Myjai Sanders, using the selection they received in the trade for receiver Marquise Brown.
Sanders had an official top-30 visit with the Cardinals. General manager Steve Keim believes he has a ton of upside.
Sanders only had 2.5 sacks last season but did have 62 quarterback pressures, according to PFF.
Some might see the selection of Sanders as a reach. The Cardinals say they followed their draft board and selected the guy with the highest grade.
