The New England Patriots are currently projected to pick No. 4 overall in the 2025 NFL draft. However, the ESPN Football Power Index is projecting they end up with the No. 1 overall pick.
There are several options they can choose from as far as players are concerned. Wide receiver and offensive tackle seem to be the two positions in particular that the team needs.
Colorado wide receiver Travis Hunter and Arizona wideout Tetairoa McMillan are the projected two top receivers in the draft. Hunter has recorded 92 receptions for 1,152 yards and 14 touchdowns this season, while McMillan has racked up 84 catches for 1,319 yards and a touchdown so far on the year.
Both are dynamic playmakers who could spark the Patriots’ offense.
On the other hand, the offensive line needs reconstruction. New England could have several options there. Left tackle Kelvin Banks Jr. has been stellar on the Texas Longhorns’ offensive line this season, and Will Campbell has been able to hold things down for LSU. Both have been key figures for their respective programs along the offensive front.
The Patriots need more dynamic playmakers on offense to help quarterback Drake Maye. With that being said, they could also use additional offensive line depth, as the unit has struggled throughout the season. One thing is certain: The Patriots must hit a home run on whatever decision they make.
Who do you want to see the Patriots take in the first round? Will it be a playmaking wide receiver? Or, will the organization take a stabilizing left tackle?
