JORDAN Peterson's planned appearance at Glasgow's OVO Hydro this summer has provoked debate, after the Scottish Greens called on the city's council to explain why it is being allowed to go ahead.
Speaking to The National, Patrick Harvie suggested the event should not go ahead due to the right-wing professor having "peddled division and promoted extremists like Tommy Robinson and Elon Musk".
He added: "Glasgow City Council have refused events before that are not in line with their values, so, at the very least, they should explain why they feel Jordan Peterson is the kind of person they are willing to host."
In response, Conservative figures like Murdo Fraser attacked Harvie's stance.
The Tory MSP wrote on Twitter/X: "Oh get lost you anti-free speech morons."
Socially conservative commentator Lois McLatchie Miller added: "Jordan Peterson promotes responsibility & family over hedonism. Sabrina Carpenter promotes premarital sex and slut culture. Guess which one the Scottish Greens want to cancel from the Hydro?"
