The Atlanta Falcons released quarterback Marcus Mariota on Tuesday, leaving Desmond Ridder as the team’s starter going into 2023. With nearly $70 million in cap space, the team is in position to make a splash in free agency and could look to upgrade the QB position.
One option is Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson, who’s expected to be franchise-tagged if a long-term deal isn’t reached. Acquiring the former NFL MVP would undoubtedly put Atlanta back on the map, but it would require the team to give up a boatload of draft picks.
