AFTER Matt Hancock had his WhatsApps leaked, some are taking steps to make sure it can’t happen to them.
The Londoner notices that more than one politician now has their messages on a default timer, so they automatically delete after a few days or weeks.
Over 100,000 private WhatsApp messages involving Hancock were leaked by journalist Isabel Oakeshott to the Telegraph newspaper last week. She had collaborated with the former Health Secretary on a book late last year. The messages detail decisions made by people in power during the pandemic.
If Government is now done by WhatsApp, could it mean there will be less record of big policy decisions in future?
