Militants shot dead an off-duty policeman in south Kashmir's Pulwama on Friday morning.
Constable Riyaz Ahmad Thoker, son of Ali Mohammad Thoker from Pulwama's Gudoora, was fired upon from a close range in his native village. He was shifted to a hospital where he succumbed to his injuries, officials said.
Police said the security forces cordoned off the area to nab the attackers. However, no arrests have been made till late in the evening.
The attack comes just a day after a Kashmiri Pandit employee was shot dead inside his office in Budgam.
