Police warn Glasgow locals 'do not approach' missing man if they spot him in city

Police in Glasgow are appealing for the public's help in tracing a missing man, but have urged anyone who sees him not to approach him.

Christopher Wright was last seen at around 8am on Tuesday, July 19 in East Campbell Street near to Glasgow Green. The 45-year-old has links to Blackpool in Lancashire, and police believe he may have travelled there.

While officers are appealing for information in a bid to trace Christopher, they urge members of the public who spot him, not to approach him. He is described as being white, around five feet, nine inches tall, with ginger, greying hair and beard.

He was last seen wearing a black North Face jacket, black trousers and dark walking shoes.

DI Barrie Kirkland said: “We want to trace Christopher as quickly as possible and I’d be interested to hear from anyone who has seen or spoken to him since Tuesday, July 19. The public should not approach him but should report any sightings to Police Scotland immediately.

“Anyone with information should contact police on 101, quoting reference 2873 of July 19 or speak to any officer.”

UPDATE: Christopher Wright has been traced safe and well.
