A woman was dragged through ticket barriers at an Essex railway station by a stranger who repeatedly kicked her in the head, leaving her unconscious.

Essex Police on Wednesday released photos of a man they are keen to trace over the violent attack, which happened in Chelmsford.

The woman’s attacker left the station following the assault, which happened around 11.30pm on October 14, while witnesses called an ambulance for the victim.

An Essex Police spokesman said: “Officers believe the man in the CCTV images may have information which could help their investigation.

“If you recognise him, or have any information, please contact BTP by texting 61016 or calling 0800 40 50 40 quoting reference 2200106282.”

Alternatively, you can call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
