A police van and a motorbike crashed on a residential Scots street in the early hours of this morning.
Emergency services raced to Granitehill Road in Aberdeen after the alarm was raised at around 2.50am on Saturday.
Officers were responding to reports of the collision involving a police van and a motorcycle.
The 35-year-old male motorcyclist was rushed to hospital for treatment. His condition is currently unknown.
A picture taken from the scene on Saturday morning showed the road taped off by police.
Cops say their enquiries are ongoing to establish the circumstances of the crash and confirmed the matter had been referred to the Police Investigations and Review Commissioner.
A Police Scotland Spokesperson said: "Around 2.50am on Saturday, April 22, police received a report of a road traffic collision involving a police van and a motorcycle on Granitehill Road, Aberdeen.
"The male motorcyclist, aged 35, has been taken to hospital. No-one else sustained any injuries in the incident and enquiries are ongoing to establish the circumstances of the crash."
