Police units swarm on Kilmarnock street as heavy cop presence spotted

Police units have swarmed on a Kilmarnock street this afternoon.

Cops have descended on Knockinlaw Road, just off Western Road in the town.

Around half-a-dozen officers are currently in the street with some outside of a property as well.

Residents are also in the street talking to officials.

One person, who asked to remain anonymous, said: "Police have been coming and going. We have no idea what's actually going on at the moment.

"It looks like they're standing guard at a house but they're also talking to a lot of people as well.

"Hopefully it's nothing serious."

Police Scotland have been contacted for comment.
