Police uncover haul of illegal tobacco and cigarettes in car after spotting man 'acting suspiciously'

Police uncovered a huge haul of illegal tobacco and cigarettes in a car in Rochdale town centre. Officers spotted a man 'acting suspiciously' beside a car on Tuesday (December 6).

The male ran off and was chased by officers before being detained. It was when officers searched the vehicle that they reportedly found a haul of illicit tobacco and cigarettes which were bagged up and recovered.

Greater Manchester Police shared the image of officers at the car, along with bin bags full of the seized goods as they issued the update, warning of the dangers of smoking illicit cigarettes.
