Police who attended a primary school in North Liverpool to tackle issues over car parking ended up taking one of the vehicles away.
Merseyside Police officers from Walton Lane Local Policing visited Blessed Sacrament Primary School in the suburb of Fazakerley after concerns were raised about parents' parking when dropping off and collecting their children from the school.
During their patrol, officers discovered that one of the vehicles involved was not insured. They arranged for it to be loaded onto a tow truck and seized.
Schools regularly complain about the number of parents, grandparents or guardians who attempt to park as close as possible to school gates without consideration of how their actions impact on the roads and pedestrians outside schools.

Road safety campaigner say that if a car is blocking the pavement for pedestrians, parking inappropriately or parking on the school zig-zags, individuals can take a photograph clearly showing the vehicle, the offence and the registration number and send it to their local authority, giving a date and time.
