Police descended on a bank in south Manchester this afternoon following reports of a 'suspicious bank transfer'.
Officers were called to Barclays in Wilbraham Road, Chorlton, at about 3.20pm today (Monday, April 4).
Pictures posted on social media showed at least four police vehicles parked outside the branch.
After investigating the report, officers determined that the call was a "false" one.
A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police said: "We were called at around 3.20pm to a report of a suspicious bank transfer being made at a bank on Wilbraham Road, Manchester.
"Enquiries were made at the scene and found to be a false call made with good intent."
