Two men were arrested in service station toilets after police followed a suspicious HGV across Greater Manchester after reports a cargo container had been stolen.

Police were called to a report of a trailer with a shipping container being stolen by a lorry off John Gilbert Way, Trafford Park, at around 4.25pm on Thursday (January 20).

During the search, officers spotted a suspicious HGV tractor unit, believed to be on false plates, and followed it covertly from the Gatley area to Birch service station off the M62.
