A driver was stopped on a motorway in Salford with a 'completely shredded' tyre.
Police said they spotted the Vauxhall Corsa driving on the M602 as officers were dealing with another broken down vehicle. The driver stopped the car and police noticed the tyre was shredded.
Pictures posted by GMP Traffic this morning showed the front-passenger side tyre with barely any rubber left on it. Police said the driver then refused to provide a sample of breath to check whether they were over the limit for either alcohol or drugs.

The driver was taken to custody, where again they refused to provide a breath sample. The tweet posted by GMP Traffic: "As our Motorway patrol was dealing with a broken down vehicle on the M602, this Corsa drove by. Car stopped and tyre found to be completely shredded.
"Driver arrested for refusing to provide a sample of breath. Also refused to provide a sample of breath in custody. #GMP"
