Police statement as air ambulance called to boy hit by car in Nottinghamshire

A 10-year-old boy was airlifted to hospital after being hit by a car in Nottinghamshire on Wednesday morning, December 21. Emergency services were called to the incident in Long Acre West, Bingham, at around 8.45am.

Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue services and Nottinghamshire Police were in attendance at the scene. The boy's injuries are not thought to be life-threatening at this time.

A police cordon was in place near the Kube Computer and Laptop Centre at the junction of Foster Lane and Long Acre East. It comes a day after a three-year-old boy was injured in a crash in Beeston.

Inspector Pete Shaw, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “Officers were called to Eaton Place, Bingham, shortly before 8.45am, this morning (21 December) following reports of a collision between a car and a pedestrian.

“A 10-year-old child has been taken to hospital with injuries not thought to be life-threatening. The road remains closed so we would please ask motorists to avoid the area and make alternative arrangements.

“Our investigation into what happened is ongoing so I would urge anyone with any dashcam footage to get in touch with us.”
