Police statement as A610 in Nottinghamshire temporarily closed

Police temporarily closed the A610 in Nottinghamshire due to 'concerns for the safety' of a man.

The inbound and outbound carriages were shut between IKEA and Junction 26 in the Broxtowe borough.

Motorists were advised to avoid the area whilst emergency services attend the scene.

An announcement was made of the closure by Nottinghamshire Police at around 2pm, which read: "Due to concerns for the safety of a male the A610 is currently closed between IKEA and Junction 26 on both inbound and outbound carriageways

"Please avoid the area at the moment whilst emergency services deal with the incident."

However, a police spokesperson said the road was only closed for a "short period".

They said: "The road was temporarily closed before the incident was resolved. Officers attended the scene due to concerns for the safety of a man."
