Police statement after car collides with e-scooter in Carlton

A 41-year-old man has been injured after a crash involving a car and an e-scooter in Carlton this morning. The collision happened in Carlton Road near Swains Avenue at around 6.55am on Wednesday, August 3.

The incident led to the closure of the main road for around an hour and a half, forcing motorists and buses to divert. The man's injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

Sergeant Steve Waft, of Nottinghamshire Police, said anyone who saw what happened should contact the force. “Emergency services were called to Carlton Road, Carlton, at around 6.55am today (3 August) following reports of a collision between a car and an e-scooter," he said in a statement.

“A 41-year-old man sustained injuries that are not believed to be life-threatening following the incident. The road was closed in both directions for around an hour and a half but has since now been reopened.

“If anyone saw what happened or has any information that could assist us with our inquiries, we’d ask that they call 101, quoting incident 85 of 3 August 2022.”
