Police shut down Ayr street after car flips onto its side

Emergency Services have shut down an Ayr street after a car flipped on to its side.

Police, fire crews and ambulances are all currently in attendance at the one vehicle crash on Craigie Avenue in the town.

An eye-witness said the road was completely closed to traffic to allow emergency responders to access the scene.

A photo from the crash shows the passenger side of the motor facing the sky with the rear passenger door hanging open.

Police have confirmed that emergency crews remain at the scene.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Officers were called to the Craigie Avenue area of Ayr around 12.45pm on Monday, July 18, following a report of a one-vehicle road crash. Emergency services remain at the scene.”
