Police send perfect reply to question over parade for 'team that lost'

Police sent the perfect response after they were sent a question asking why Liverpool FC held a victory parade celebrating after the Champions League final.

Merseyside Police's Road Policing Unit was sent a message by an American woman living in the UK after they posted an update on social media about the 'fantastic' support shown by fans at the victory parade on Sunday. Thousands upon thousands of Reds fans lined a nine-mile parade route where Liverpool FC players showed off their newly earned trophies.

Red smoke clogged the air as supporters celebrated a fine campaign for the club. The Reds won the League Cup and FA Cup - as well as finishing second in the Premier League and runners up in the Champions League.

After the parade was finished, the policing team posted on Twitter, they said: "Fantastic to see so many people out yesterday for the LFC parade. An amazing opportunity to lead the parade through the city and great work by all involved to make it a successful."

The social media user responded saying: "It might be me showing how American I am but why parade for a team that lost? I'm genuinely confused not trying to offend anyone."

The policing team replied: "The team has won two domestic trophies this season, hence the reason for the parade."

The user replied back saying: "Oh, okay, then that makes sense! Thank you! I appreciate your reply, and I appreciate and thank you all for your service."
