Cops have seized a major haul of illicit tobacco products including vapes from an Ayrshire shop.
Officers found 18 pouches of illegal tobacco, 59 packets of counterfeit cigarettes and 302 dodgy vape products in a store in Irvine.
The store was raided by Police and Trading Standards as part of a crackdown on young people acquiring vape products - despite being under the legal purchase age of 18.
The multi-agency day of action was carried out by Preventions & Interventions Officer PC Jenner who was joined by Steven Bodys of North Ayrshire Trading Standards.
The taskforce patrolled the town checking several stores for their age verification methods and the types of Nicotine Vapour Products sold.
But the duo uncovered a huge stash of products in one store, with images showing the incredible range of tobacco, cigarettes and vapes uncovered.
PC Jenner said: "Whilst we continue to receive reports of shops reportedly selling vapes to the under-aged and selling illicit tobacco and vape products, we will continue to work with partner agencies to disrupt them.
"We regularly assist the North Ayrshire Trading Standards team in their vital work to crack down on unscrupulous retailers and illegal products.
"This latest seizure is an example of some of the counterfeit products out there. However, it is also worth noting that several local retailers demonstrated stringent 'Challenge 25' protocols for their sale of UK compliant vape and tobacco products."
