Police seize cannabis haul worth £1m in raids across Bury

Cannabis with a street value of £1m has been seized and destroyed following a series of raids in Bury.

Acting on intelligence police raided three 'large, sophisticated cannabis grows' and a fourth 'potential grow' in a five-hour period.

Some 372 plants were seized and about £120,000 worth of the class B drug with an estimated yield of £1m were found.

A man was arrested inside one of the properties and has been charged with producing a class B drug and bailed.

Police said the raids took place across Bury but did not provide specific locations.

A post on the GMP Bury South Facebook page said: "These types of crimes run through organised crime groups which bring threats to the area and pose risks to the community.

"We will continue to tackle the illegal production of cannabis and information from the public helps us to do so.

"If you have any information regarding the production or supply of drugs you can report it anonymously via CrimeStoppers online or by calling 0800 555 111."
