Police want to speak to anyone who saw a motorcyle collision that resulted in the death of an elderly man on a busy Brixton street.

Officers and paramedics were called to the fatal crash on Acre Lane at 3.46pm on Sunday, April 24.

An 87-year-old man, who was walking along the street, was taken to hospital but later died.

The motorcyclist was arrested at the scene on suspicion of causing death by careless driving and driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

He was taken to a south London police station and subsequently released under investigation.

The pedestrian’s next of kin were notified and are being supported by specialist officers, as detectives from the Met’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit investigate.

They want to hear from any witnesses who saw the collision or may have captured it on using dash cam footage.
