Police are investigating a fiery fatal car crash in Victoria's northwest.
The driver and sole occupant died at the scene following the accident in Birdwoodton about 5am on Saturday.
The driver is yet to be formally identified.
Police are urging witnesses or anyone with dashcam or CCTV footage to come forward.
The deaths bring Victoria's road toll closer to the state's total road deaths in 2022 with two months remaining.
The state has recorded 238 deaths on its roads this year compared with 240 people killed for all 2022.
This time last year, 206 drivers had died on Victoria's roads.
The toll is also the state's highest since 2016, when 240 motorists had died at the same point in the year.
