Police seek information after £130,000 copper cabling stolen in Dunfermline

POLICE are seeking information following the theft of £130,000 worth of copper cabling in Dunfermline.

The cables were stolen in Bellyeoman Park, off Robertson Road in the city between January 15 and January 16, 2025.

A similar theft occurred between December 11 and 18, 2024, in a field near Buckyburn Place in the same city. The combined cost of these materials was in excess of £130,000 and the theft involved heavy machinery. Sergeant Gayle Hopton said: “Enquiries are continuing into this high-value theft and we are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed anything around this time to come forward. “If you saw anything unusual or suspicious in the area, including any suspicious vehicles or heavy machinery, please contact police immediately.” Anyone with any information is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101 quoting reference number 1374 of Thursday, January 16, 2025.
