Missing Sunderland teenager found 'safe and well', police confirm

A Sunderland teenager reported missing earlier this week has been found 'safe and well', police have confirmed.

JoJo Johnstone, 15, was reported to be last seen leaving his home in Witherwack at around 5pm on Tuesday, May 24.

Officers released an appeal to the public on Thursday to help find the teenager.

On Saturday morning, officers confirmed that the teenager was found. A spokesperson for the Northumbria Police said: "Missing teenager Jojo Johnstone has been found safe and well.

"Thanks for sharing our appeal."
