Police searching for two sisters who disappeared in Aberdeen three days ago are working with officers in Hungary to find them.
The public have been asked to help trace Eliza and Henrietta Huszti, both 32 and originally from Hungary, who were last seen early on Tuesday morning on CCTV cameras in the city centre.
Police dogs and marine search units have been deployed in the search for the sisters, who were seen crossing Victoria Bridge, close to the city’s port, and heading along the River Dee towards Aberdeen Boat Club.
The women, who are part of a set of triplets, are described as white and of slim build with long, brown hair.
Ch Insp Darren Bruce said: “Extensive inquiries are ongoing to trace Eliza and Henrietta and searches are being carried out in and around the area where they were last seen.
“The Torry side of Victoria Bridge where they were last seen has many commercial and industrial units.
“Searches are ongoing here and we would urge businesses in and around the South Esplanade and Menzies Road area to please review their CCTV footage for early morning on Tuesday 7 January 2025 and contact us if it holds anything that may be relevant to our investigation. We also ask anyone with dashcam footage from that time to contact us.”
The women’s brother, József, told BBC News that their mother spoke to them on Saturday and both seemed “fine”.
The BBC reported that their sister Edit Huszti, the other triplet, talked to them on New Year’s Eve via video call and said they seemed cheerful.
Eliza reportedly works at a branch of Costa Coffee in the Bon Accord shopping centre. Businesses in the area have been urged to check CCTV footage in an effort to help trace the pair.
Police Scotland said it had the support of police in their home country, who were liaising with the wider family.
