Police Scotland negotiators in 24-hour standoff amid 'concern for man'

POLICE Scotland negotiators have been on scene for more than 24 hours after concerns were raised for a man in a property in the Highlands.

Emergency services in Castletown near Thurso received a call around 12.25pm on Monday afternoon and negotiators were called soon after to assist.

The road in which the property is on, Coronation Place, has been closed off.

Fire and ambulance services were also in attendance but it is unclear whether they remain on the scene.

Inspector Kay Macrae said: ”Around 12.25pm on Monday, 4 November, 2024, we were called after concern was raised for a man within a house on Coronation Place, Castletown.

“Officers and negotiators are in attendance.”
