TWO people have been charged in connection with an attempted murder in Livingston.

A 48-year-old man and a 44-year-old woman have been arrested and charged over the incident in Clement Rise on Sunday.

Police thanked the public for their assistance as they investigated a “violent attack” which saw a 43-year-old man sustain serious injuries.

He remains in hospital.

The pair are due to appear at Livingston Sheriff Court on Thursday.

A 48-year-old man who was earlier arrested has been released without charge pending further investigation.

Detective Inspector Lee Beaumont said: “We would like to thank the public for their assistance with our inquiries into this particularly violent attack.”
