Police say CCTV images are last known sighting of missing Fife man

Police Scotland are growing increasingly concerned for the welfare of a man who was last pictured on CCTV footage last night. Brian Paterson, 56, was reported missing after failing to return home on Thursday, 6 October, 2022.

Officers say he had been due to attend an appointment on Hayfield Road, Kirkcaldy on Thursday, 6 October, 2022. Brian was last seen on CCTV at around 11.45pm on Thursday night walking from Lauder Road onto Adamson Avenue.

Brian's family are said to be 'extremely concerned' for his welfare. Police Scotland are asking for the public's help in tracing the missing man who they say is ill-prepared for current weather conditions.

He is described as being white, around 6ft, with a medium build with short or balding grey hair. He was last seen wearing a black jacket and blue shorts and grey Adidas trainers.

Officers have been carrying out extensive enquiries and checking CCTV footage from in and around the area for any additional information.

Sergeant Paul Thomson said: “Our concern for Brian is growing, he is not suitably dressed for the recent inclement weather. His family is understandably worried for him and just want him home safe and well. If anyone has seen Brian, or has any knowledge or information as to his whereabouts, please contact us.”

Anyone with information is asked to call Police Scotland via 101, quoting incident 0043 of 7 October, 2022.
