Officers investigating a report of assault in Newcastle city centre which knocked a man unconscious have issued an image of a man they would like to trace.
It was reported that at 9.30pm on June 11, a 35-year-old man had been outside Popworld on Newcastle's Bigg Market when a man he did not know approached him and punched him to the left side of the face before leaving the area in a taxi.
The victim was knocked unconscious and fell to the ground, and was later hospitalised with a fractured eye socket and cuts to the face. An investigation was launched and a number of enquiries carried out to trace the man responsible.

Now officers from Northumbria Police have issued the image of a man who was in the area at the time, and might have information which can help.

The man, anyone who knows him, or anyone who can help the investigation is asked to contact police by using the 'Tell us Something' page on the police website quoting crime refence 068304V/22.
