Police release image of man amid probe into 'smoke-grenade' thrown during Celtic Park match

Police have released an image of a man they would like to speak to as part of their investigations into culpable and reckless conduct at a football match at Celtic Park.

A smoke grenade-style device was thrown from the crowd at around 9.05pm during a match between Celtic and AZ Alkmaar in the Uefa Europa League on Wednesday, 18 August, 2021.

Officers have released an image of a man that they believe may be able to assist them with their enquiries.

Constable Daniel Brady of the Greater Glasgow Divisional Violence Reduction Unit said: “We believe this man may have information which could help our enquiries so I would urge anyone with information to come forward.”

“You can call Police Scotland on 101, quoting reference number 2378 of 18 August, 2021. Alternatively, Crimestoppers can be contacted anonymously on 0800 555 111."
