Police release image of last known sighting of man missing for 17 days

Police are searching mountains, woodland and rivers for a missing man as concern grows over his wellbeing. Martin Clatworthy has been missing for over two weeks having last been seen in the village of Blaenrhondda near Treorchy shortly before 11am on Tuesday, March 7.

South Wales Police officers have trawled through CCTV from the area at the time of Mr Clatworthy's disappearance and have now released an image of the last known sighting of him. In a new appeal, a spokesperson for the force said it was "very concerned" for the missing 57-year-old's welfare.

Members of Central Beacons Mountain Rescue Team had previously been called in to help with the search for Mr Clatworthy during a period of snow and heavy rain. They were also helped by members of the Western Beacons Mountain Rescue Team, but after hours of searching in “challenging conditions”, the search was stood down late on Thursday, March 9.

Mr Clatworthy is described as 5ft 7ins tall with brown eyes and short, dark hair. When he was last seen he was wearing black jeans and a black fleece. You can get the latest WalesOnline newsletters e-mailed to you directly for free by signing up here.
