British Transport Police have released a CCTV image of a man they are searching for following an incident on a train heading from Edinburgh to Airdrie earlier this year.
The male is described as having a "strong" Scouse accent and officers believe he could have information to assist them with their investigation.
The incident took place onboard an Edinburgh Waverley to Airdrie train service between 11.09pm and 11.30pm on Monday, January 17.
Police have urged anyone with information about the man to come forward and help with their enquiries.
The male, thought to be approximately 35 years of age, is described as being around 5' 7"/5' 8" tall.
He has short brown hair and patchy unshaven stubble and is said to be wearing a black padded style jacket with a hood and black jeans/trousers in an image released from the incident.
A British Transport Police spokesperson told Lanarkshire Live : “I would urge the male, or anyone who has information relating to the male depicted in the image, to make contact with us.
"We can be contacted by text on 61016 or by calling 0800 40 50 40, quoting reference 2200005227, or calls can be made to Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
