The images which have been released show two men who Northumbria Police believe can assist with their investigation into the incident.

A spokesperson for the force said: "These unknown individuals engaged in a conversation with the woman, and it is then believed another individual, a woman, discreetly stole the victim’s purse, containing almost £900, whilst she was distracted.

"Enquiries are ongoing, including reviewing of CCTV, and police have now identified two men who they would like to speak to in connection with the incident.

"They were in the shop at the time and could have information that may assist the investigation."

The men, or anyone who knows them, is asked to please get in touch by using the ‘Tell Us Something’ page on the Northumbria Police website, or calling 101 quoting log 105624Y/22.
