Police release CCTV after man 'attempted to assault people with weapon' in Nottingham city centre

Police have released CCTV images after a man 'attempted to assault people with a weapon' in Nottingham city centre. Officers were called to Victoria Street at around 8.40pm on May 3 after receiving reports of violent disorder.

An unknown man reportedly attempted to assault multiple people with an unidentified weapon during the incident, Nottinghamshire Police said. Nobody suffered any injuries, with police stating the man then left the scene following the alleged offence.

An investigation has since been launched, with police now releasing images of a suspect they would like to speak to in connection with the incident. PC Ian Jones, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “It is important that anyone who recognises the man in these pictures comes forward immediately.

“There is absolutely no excuse for anyone to behave in the violent manner that was on show during this incident. We would ask anyone that saw what happened, or has any further information, to contact the police on 101, quoting incident 786 of May 3.

“Information can also be reported anonymously to Crimestoppers by calling 0800 555 111.”
