Police have released the age of a woman found dead in Dundee at the weekend.
Officers are continuing to probe the circumstances of the 37-year-old's death, which they are currently treating as "unexplained" following the discovery of her body in a property on Strathmartine Road. Ambulance crews at the dwelling attended on Saturday July 2 but the woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
Officers were seen guarding the door at the property on Saturday afternoon and remained there over the weekend. No name has been released by Police Scotland. However, a report has been sent to the Procurator Fiscal.
The Daily Record reported on Saturday that eyewitnesses reported a heavy emergency services presence in the street.
One worried local said: "There were a lot of police and an ambulance in the same place yesterday, then again more police arrived today." Another added: "Police have been guarding the block all day."
A police spokesperson said: “Around 3.10pm on Saturday, 2 July 2022, we were made aware of the death of a 37-year-old woman at a property in Strathmartine Road, Dundee. Officers attended and enquiries will be carried out to establish the full circumstances surrounding the death, which is currently being treated as unexplained. A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.”
