A huge machete was found inside a stolen vehicle in Wigan..
Officers posting on the GMP Leigh, Atherton & Hindley Facebook page reported on Monday (July 19).that the find came after Neighbourhood Beat Officers (NBO) in Leigh had been conducting an operation into knife crime.
On patrol, police located a vehicle, which had been reported stolen from the Merseyside area, and discovered the weapon inside.

The weapon has been seized and will now be destroyed.
The Facebook page wrote: “#Leigh NBOs have been conducting a proactive operation to tackle knife crime.
“Whilst on patrol they located this vehicle, an outstanding stolen from an address in Merseyside.
“This machete was found inside the vehicle and has been seized for destruction. #OpSycamore”
The find comes after a separate incident involving knives was reported in Salford last week.
A man had reportedly been seen wandering through Trafford Road with a knife last Thursday.
The man was later arrested and taken into custody for questioning.
